This specific role is for a Service Crew member at a project location 65 miles outside of Elko, Nevada. The Service Crew member will report to the Shift Supervisor and be responsible for efficiently carrying out all necessary underground services for drive development and production.

Requirements

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalency
Minimum of one year’s experience in the Underground Mining Industry.
The ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, cross-cultural environment with a high degree of professionalism and self-motivation is essential.
Proven ability to recognize and follow verbal and written instructions.
Able to effectively prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
Must have good radio etiquette and strong communications skills.
Eagerness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

Complies with all HS&E policies, procedures and instructions, including correct use of safety devices and protective equipment, prompt reporting of hazardous situations, making necessary changes to eliminate or control hazards, and reporting accidents or injuries.
Complies with relevant Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
Takes reasonable care for their own safety and that of other persons.
Performs pre-start checks and SWICs.
Ensures inspections and maintenance are carried out on all equipment before use.
Ensures that all tools are serviceable and safe.
Works to minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity.
Carries out standard workplace inspection practices and procedures and prepares areas for drilling, charging, or scraping in accordance with mine safety procedures.
Maintains a high standard of housekeeping.
Liaises with the underground shift supervisor to ensure work is done safely and efficiently, and to advise when equipment is out of service and when it can be returned to service.
Works with trades and non-trades persons carrying out other tasks in and around the underground mine as directed.
