About The Position

This role supports underground mine design, scheduling, and production planning at a world-class operation. The Underground Mining Engineer - Short Term Planning will work collaboratively with operational and functional teams to prepare mine plans and schedules, develop life-of-mine designs, support underground development planning, and assist with IFC design generation. The position also involves supporting stope drilling and production planning, participating in ventilation surveys, modeling, and analysis, and identifying improvement opportunities for implementation.

Requirements

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• Familiarity with safety systems and a proactive safety mindset
• An undergraduate degree, preferably in Mining Engineering
• Experience with 3D mine design and drafting software such as Deswik or Vulcan
• Experience in underground metal mining
• Well-developed analytical and technical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently, contribute within a team, and build collaborative relationships
• Intermediate computer skills, including tools such as Excel, Word, and SAP

Responsibilities

• Preparing mine plans and schedules to support long-range planning horizons
• Developing life-of-mine designs and supporting underground development planning
• Assisting with IFC design generation as needed
• Supporting stope drilling and production planning activities
• Participating in ventilation surveys, modeling, and analysis
• Identifying improvement opportunities and supporting their implementation in partnership with the broader team
