Underground Heavy Duty Mechanic - Brucejack Mine
About The Position
Finning is growing and so are the opportunities! We are hiring multiple Journeyperson Underground Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to join our team at Brucejack Underground Mine on a 14 x 14 Continuous Shift rotation. This role offers an opportunity to work on ultra-class Caterpillar mining equipment for the biggest players in the industry. As an Underground Heavy Duty Mechanic, you’ll troubleshoot and repair a variety of Caterpillar mining equipment such as underground haul trucks, graders and loaders leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on.
Requirements
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic/(HET) Certification
- Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract (5 Yr)
- 5+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience recommended
- Experience with AD45 Underground Articulated trucks, R2900, R1700 and R1600 Underground Loaders as well as a variety of underground support equipment
- Computer literacy along with Finning S-level courses
- Ability to obtain Customer Site Access (includes Drug & Alcohol, and Fitness testing)
- Ability to wear a respirator
Nice To Haves
- Underground Mining experience is beneficial
- Previous repair experience on the Caterpillar mining and general line product lines would be considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Field diagnosis and running repairs of CAT Equipment in an underground mine environment
- Interface with customers, products and sales support
- Large‑scale overhauls and rebuilds
- Component replacements
- Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication
