Underground Electrical Helper
About The Position
Fountain Services is seeking motivated and dependable Underground Electrical Helpers to support commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout our service region. This position involves underground utility installation, conduit systems, equipment operation, and electrical construction support. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Equipment operation experience is preferred for Helper positions and required for Operator positions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred) and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a mandatory drug screening
- Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
- Commitment to quality workmanship and safety
Nice To Haves
- Commercial electrical construction experience
- Underground utility installation experience
- Excavator operating experience
- Installing ground rods, transformers, junction boxes, and handholes
- Experience installing EMT, rigid, and PVC conduit systems
Responsibilities
- Assist with underground utility and electrical infrastructure installation
- Install and terminate underground electrical cables, ducts, and conduits
- Assist with feeder conduit installation and electrical gear placement
- Use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment
- Work safely around heavy equipment and active construction sites
- Install branch circuitry and underground raceway systems
- Read and interpret construction documents and project plans
- Follow directions from supervisors and project leadership
- Maintain organized work areas and project materials
- Identify and resolve jobsite challenges proactively
- Assist with concrete work and restoration activities as required
- Support project completion through teamwork and quality workmanship
