About The Position

R.D. Graham Electric is hiring for a full-time underground electrical foreperson. This position provides guidance, direction, and oversight to underground electric crews operating at job sites. The role involves working safely on new construction, maintenance, and repair of underground installation work, leading crews in infrastructure and duct bank installs, and demonstrating leadership and management skills. The foreperson will train lower-skilled employees, plan safe work based on job prints, coordinate and inspect crew work, conduct pre-job briefings, and ensure inspections are scheduled and completed. A working knowledge of underground distribution, troubleshooting skills for underground raceways and circuits, and safe equipment operation are essential. The role also includes maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and tools, requesting special equipment needs, ensuring project benchmarks and schedules are met, and potentially attending project meetings. Promoting a team-oriented, positive work environment with a culture of safety and open communication is expected, along with aiding and overseeing safety initiatives.

Requirements

Experience working in field installation and operations (3-5 years), primarily in the construction and service of the commercial electrical industry.
Experience with job site layout based upon plan takeoff and interpretation are critical to this position.
Experience with excavation operations and the various associated equipment is a must.
Experience with trade inspections, dealing with various jurisdictions and inspectors are also areas which are beneficial.
Associated trade certifications are beneficial.
Demonstrate strong leadership, supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, and repair of underground installation work.
Capable of leading underground service crew to complete infrastructure and duct bank installs.
Supervises crew and demonstrates working knowledge of leadership and management skills.
Capable of leading and training lower skilled employees in safe and productive work procedures.
Capable of planning safe work based on a job print or work order.
Coordinates and inspects the work of crew members.
Conduct pre-job or tailgate briefings.
Ensure inspections status; scheduled and completed.
Possess a working knowledge of all aspects of underground distribution.
Troubleshoot problems on underground raceways and circuits.
Understands how to safely operate equipment.
Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
Ensure special equipment needs are requested.
Ensure project benchmarks are achieved, and job schedule is maintained.
May attend project meetings and communicate information to PM and job foreman.
Aid and oversee safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.
Promote a team-oriented, positive work environment which promotes a culture of safety and open communication.
