About The Position

This undergraduate research assistant position supports a funded interdisciplinary study examining social and structural determinants of mental health among immigrant adults in the United States. Working under the supervision of Dr. Oluwatoyin Olukotun ( SONHI ) and Dr. Lauren Berger (Psychological Sciences), the student will contribute to a project using pooled National Health Interview Survey ( NHIS ) data, a large, nationally representative dataset, to identify factors associated with mental health outcomes and access to mental health services among immigrant populations.

• Interest in health equity research
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Applicants must be a junior or senior in Fall 2026
• Must be enrolled in Nursing, Psychological Sciences, Social Work, or Sociology
