About The Position

The Program Coordination Assistant will work with the Consortium Assistant Director and Consortium Research Coordinator to assist in programmatic efforts of the Center. The South Central CASC is a science organization that works with decision makers across the south-central US, providing learning opportunities, technical assistance, science translation, data and tools, and other information to help build more resilient ecosystems and communities. This position is ideal for a student keen to develop professional skills and enthusiastic to be a part of a collaborative office environment.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma.
• Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
• Familiarity with Mac or Windows computer operating systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite (or Mac/Google equivalents)
• Strong writing/editing skills
• Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
• Ability to problem-solve
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to lift/carry 35 pounds to help with event tabling
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during outreach events
• Must be able to communicate via multiple modes of communication, including email and phone
• Driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in and/or familiarity with climate/weather science, science communication, or environmental science

Responsibilities

• Provide logistical support for programmatic events such as the Annual Actionable Science and Adaptation Meeting, Early Career Researcher Forum, and Undergraduate Scholars Program
• Assist South Central CASC team members with setting up planning meetings, organizing meeting agendas, and facilitating planning discussions
• Summarize key takeaways and action items during planning meetings, workshops, and speaking events
• Assist with organizing and updating online spreadsheets for reporting and evaluation purposes
• Transport meeting participants via OU Fleet Vehicles as needed
• Communicate with researchers and remote staff across the South Central CASC consortium to ensure CASC program information is shared widely
• Assist with the promotion and facilitation of educational efforts, including CASC trainings and OU-sponsored events
• Other duties as assigned
