About The Position

The CHAOS group led by Dr. Aaron Hill is seeking a motivated undergraduate research assistant to conduct research in aviation weather hazards and artificial intelligence/machine learning. The student selected for this project will gather, organize, and prepare weather hazard datasets to later train predictive models that will anticipate and predict hazards multiple days in advance. The student chosen will use data analysis tools, primarily with Python, to quantify hazard climatologies and observational biases, and relate past hazardous weather to environmental variables important for prediction.
