About The Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position for University of North Dakota (UND) students. The role involves learning and utilizing a high-performance computing environment, Linux operating system, and numerical methods for research work under Dr. Zhang. Responsibilities include preparing and setting up simulations, performing numerical simulations using in-house developed code, processing results, and contributing to research reports and publications.
Requirements
- Undergraduates only
- Able to work independently and remain task-driven
- Good computer programming skills
- Knowledge of computer simulation
- Completed coursework in ME306 and ME341
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
Responsibilities
- Learn high performance computing environment, Linux operating system, and numerical methods and simulation workflows needed for the research work
- Prepare and setup simulation including geometry and mesh generation
- Perform numerical simulations using in-house developed computer code
- Process simulation results, create research report and write research paper for publication.
