About The Position

The Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) is a team of researchers and practitioners developing and refining knowledge to improve how systems interact with children and families. Each year, TXICFW is responsible for conducting the Child Care Market Rate Survey, a comprehensive statewide assessment that provides up-to-date data on childcare rates in Texas. The insights gained from this survey are instrumental for local workforce development boards in determining appropriate child care subsidy rates. The Undergraduate Research Assistant (URA) will assist in gathering accurate and current data from child care providers across the state as well as support other funded projects as needed.

Requirements

Undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin must be enrolled in at least 12 enrollment hours.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
Undergraduate student must be enrolled in at least 12 enrollment hours for Fall and/or Spring semester(s): Fall: 8/16 – 12/31 Spring: 1/1 – 5/15

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in Vietnamese or Spanish - fluency.
Research background or familiarity and interest in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Prior experience working at a call center, over the phone and/or at a childcare facility.
