Under the day-to-day supervision of the UPBM Administrator & Curriculum Advisor, and with some latitude for independent decision-making, manages all undergraduate courses for the Department of Biology. Interfaces directly with faculty and staff, students and visitors. Helps to create and maintain the standard of customer service in the department. Works directly with central university services such as the Registrar, Event & Classroom Management, IT, Communications and others to negotiate terms for each class and professor’s needs. Acts as a higher-level, primary authority for faculty and students, communicating policy, requirements, and advising those with particular and unique requests. Handles a wide variety of situations, which often necessitate obtaining accurate information from the administration, understanding all course and HR terminology, and knowledge of specific and unusual guidelines. Consults with instructors on various aspects of course administration, provides support for the current semester, and works with faculty to plan logistics for the next. After a focused training period, position is expected to evolve into broader capacity and assistance to other departments over time.
