About The Position

Doyle Security Services, Inc. (DSS) is seeking experienced Security Officers in the Brooklyn area for an Educational Institution. The role involves observing and reporting activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. This includes making periodic tours to check for irregularities, preserving order, and enforcing regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. The job requires the ability to stand for the majority of the workday and provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and guests. It also involves establishing and maintaining good rapport with parents, students, staff, and community members, and ensuring safety and efficient reporting.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid NYS Security Guard License
3+ years of experience in Security Industry
Must have exceptional Customer Service Skills
Must be able to verbally de-escalate situations
Reliable transportation
Must be able to understand the English language and communicate it effectively in both the verbal and written form

Nice To Haves

Prior School experience preferred.
School security experience a Plus
CPR Certification

Responsibilities

Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities.
Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
Provide a safe secure environment for students, staff and guests inside the school.
Establish and maintain good rapport with parents, students, staff and community members.
Monitor hallways, stairwells, toilet facilities, outside facilities, and other public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security of the facility.
Assist with fire drills, crises and other emergency building evacuations and situations.
Assist administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations.
Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assisting students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations.
Supervise and direct student movement during arrival and dismissal.
Update security records, logs, and reports.
Ensure all doors and gates are locked and that all alarms are engaged at designated times.
Assist staff and emergency personnel in handling emergencies and deescalating disruptive situations that may arise on campus.
Assist in daily operational duties as needed.
