About The Position

Blueline Security Services is seeking a professional, reliable, and alert Unarmed Security Officer for a busy retail location in Northwest Washington, DC. The officer will be stationed primarily at the front of the store, maintaining a visible security presence, observing activity, reporting concerns, and helping deter theft and other security issues. This is a fast-paced environment with significant foot traffic, requiring sustained focus, calmness, professionalism, and alertness throughout the shift. The position follows a 10:00 AM–10:00 PM schedule, with a one-hour meal break and one 15-minute break. The officer must hold a valid Washington, DC Security Officer License, be available to work weekends and holidays, and meet Blueline Security Services’ employment standards, including background and drug screening. Prior retail security experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

Possess a valid Washington, DC Security Officer License.
Be available to work weekends and holidays and the 10:00 AM–10:00 PM schedule.
Be reliable and punctual for every shift.
Be able to stand and remain on one's feet for extended periods.
Remain alert, attentive, and focused throughout the entire shift.
Be able to handle a fast-paced environment with significant foot traffic and remain calm and professional under pressure.
Have strong observation and communication skills.
Maintain a clean, well-groomed, professional appearance and comply with uniform standards.
Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Provide prior employment references.
Maintain a clean driving record and criminal background.
Successfully pass a background check and drug test.
Possess and maintain any security licensing required for the position.

Responsibilities

Maintain a visible security presence at the front of the store.
Observe customers, employees, and activity throughout the retail environment.
Deter theft, unauthorized activity, and other security concerns.
Promptly report suspicious activity, incidents, and safety concerns.
Remain alert and focused throughout the shift and calm and professional under pressure.
Work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment with heavy foot traffic.
Complete required reports and documentation accurately.
Follow Blueline Security Services and client post orders.
Provide professional customer service while maintaining appropriate security awareness.
Report to work on time, in full uniform, and ready to work; maintain a clean, complete, properly fitted uniform and professional appearance throughout the shift.
Refrain from personal cell phone use while on duty; use a cell phone only for work-related purposes.
Follow written and verbal instructions.
