About The Position

Doyle Security Services, Inc. (DSS) is seeking experienced Security Officers in the New York City area for Special Events. This role involves monitoring access points, conducting security checks, managing crowds, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests. The officer will follow access control procedures, maintain exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and observe/report activities to ensure the security and safety of client property and personnel. Periodic tours to check for irregularities and enforcing site regulations are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid NYS Security Guard License
Must be available to work weekends
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must have exceptional Customer Service Skills
Must be able to verbally de-escalate situations
Reliable transportation
Must be able to understand the English and Spanish languages and communicate it effectively in both the verbal and written form

Nice To Haves

Security or related experience or customer service knowledge and college level education can be substituted for work experience.

Responsibilities

Monitor access points and conduct thorough security checks
Crowd management, including controlling entry and exit points and ensuring proper flow of attendees
Provide a safe and welcoming environment for guests and attendees
Follow access control procedures as directed
Maintaining exceptional communication, hospitality, and interpersonal skills
Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities.
Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
