About The Position

This position provides direct, responsive, and intensive outreach services to youth experiencing homelessness, ages 24 and younger, in Baltimore County. The person in this position will work with those individuals in a way that reflects the individual's own personal goals. The Youth Outreach Worker will engage youth in order to assess the need for services and interventions for youth experiencing homelessness in Baltimore County. The person in this position will develop and build relationships with service providers (public and private) in Baltimore County and Baltimore City. This person will develop a network and gain direct access to information and resources regarding unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness living in unstable conditions.

Requirements

Experience working with youth experiencing homelessness.
Ability to build rapport and trust with young people.
Knowledge of resources and services available to homeless youth in Baltimore County and Baltimore City.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in Spanish.
Experience with case management.
Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques.
