About The Position

South Jersey Radiology Associates (SJRA) is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound examinations as ordered by referring physicians and report preliminary findings to the Radiologists. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, located at the Voorhees (Women's Center), NJ. The role involves reviewing patient information, explaining procedures, performing high-quality ultrasound studies, reviewing images with radiologists, maintaining confidentiality, providing technical interpretations, maintaining exam rooms and equipment, and traveling to SJRA offices as necessary. The position requires punctuality and regular attendance. Approximately 80-85% of the shift involves standing and scanning patients, with repetitive motion using transducers. The role also requires lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and twisting to assist patients on and off the examination table. There is significant patient contact, and potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood, and body fluids.

Requirements

  • RDMS (Abdomen and/or OB/GYN)
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Infection control practices
  • Knowledge of pathology
  • Knowledge of image interpretation
  • High level disinfectant procedures

Nice To Haves

  • RVT preferred
  • Two years experience as ultrasound technologist preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review personal information for accuracy, patient information, referring physician, referral/script prior to performing the examination
  • Explain procedure to patient and answer any questions regarding the exam procedure
  • Perform a high quality ultrasound studies as ordered by the referring physicians’ orders
  • Review images with radiologists when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
  • Provide accurate written technical interpretation to Radiologist
  • Maintain exam rooms, which may include stocking with supplies
  • Maintain work area and equipment QC checklist
  • Travel to SJRA offices as necessary
  • Punctuality and regular attendance
  • All other duties as assigned
