Position Overview The Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. This role requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely imaging services.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program meeting ARRT or equivalent standards
  • Current CPR certification – required
  • Compliance with all hospital policies, including HIPAA, safety standards, and professional conduct
  • Willingness to meet vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of ultrasound experience preferred; new graduates may be considered
  • Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) – preferred
  • Strong technical and imaging skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and patient care skills
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations accurately and efficiently for all patient populations
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and selection of appropriate transducers for each procedure
  • Capture and submit high-quality diagnostic images to the Radiologist for interpretation
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and exam rooms in optimal working condition
  • Utilize electronic systems, including Meditech, to verify orders and document procedures
  • Manage imaging workflow through PACS, including image storage and CD creation
  • Exercise independent clinical judgment, initiative, and attention to detail
  • Cross-train and maintain competency in sonography practices as needed
  • Assist with additional departmental tasks during periods of low patient volume
