Position Overview The Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. This role requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely imaging services.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program meeting ARRT or equivalent standards
Current CPR certification – required
Compliance with all hospital policies, including HIPAA, safety standards, and professional conduct
Willingness to meet vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer)

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one (1) year of ultrasound experience preferred; new graduates may be considered
Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) – preferred
Strong technical and imaging skills
Attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Effective communication and patient care skills
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety standards

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations accurately and efficiently for all patient populations
Ensure proper patient positioning and selection of appropriate transducers for each procedure
Capture and submit high-quality diagnostic images to the Radiologist for interpretation
Maintain ultrasound equipment and exam rooms in optimal working condition
Utilize electronic systems, including Meditech, to verify orders and document procedures
Manage imaging workflow through PACS, including image storage and CD creation
Exercise independent clinical judgment, initiative, and attention to detail
Cross-train and maintain competency in sonography practices as needed
Assist with additional departmental tasks during periods of low patient volume
