About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound studies and related procedures at a technical level that does not require direct supervision, following established department and hospital guidelines. The position does not directly manage other caregivers. Diagnostic Imaging provides services across a variety of locations and supports the emergency department, operating room, inpatient floors, and Family Birthing Center. The schedule is variable, with 40 weekly hours, and may include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate eligible and registry eligible from an accredited Ultrasound training program.
• Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registry or registry eligible in OB/GYN, Abdominal, and Physics.
• Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment required to perform the job safely.

Nice To Haves

• Additional ARDMS registries.
• Support for RDMS, SDMS, and local affiliations.
• One year of full-time experience as a registered Ultrasound Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and interventional ultrasound examinations in accordance with department policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures for quality patient care.
• Assist with record maintenance and statistics as requested.
• Participate in the student training program as requested.
• Assist with special projects as requested.
• Support the organization’s vision, mission, values, and continuous-improvement principles.
• Maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
• Conduct activities with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; act ethically, report known or suspected violations, and cooperate with organizational investigations and proceedings.
• Deliver timely, efficient, accurate customer service and/or patient care.
• Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned.
