About The Position

The Coral Springs Family Health and Surgery Center provides patients with convenient access to the same world-class care provided at Cleveland Clinic's regional hospitals. This state-of-the-art facility specializes in primary care, outpatient surgery, imaging and more. As a Breast Ultrasound Technologist, you will use imaging devices that emit sound waves to create images that help physicians assess and diagnose a variety of conditions. These imaging technologies include ultrasounds, sonograms and echocardiograms. In this role, you will operate sonographic imaging equipment that uses a handheld probe moved over the area being examined to produce two-dimensional and three-dimensional images. These devices are used for diagnostic purposes, therapeutic procedures and to assist with interventional procedures such as biopsies or draining fluid collections. A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
  • Registered through the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR board eligible. If not already obtained, registration through the ARDMS is required within 18 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience as a sonographer in an acute care imaging setting
  • Breast ultrasound experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine imaging, emergent and invasive procedures to detect pathology.
  • Safely operate equipment and maintain standards while performing procedures.
  • Provide copies of imaging studies.
  • Complete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation and contact service if necessary.
  • Document in charts upon completion of procedures.
  • Coordinate and answer questions regarding scheduling, patient information, networking and informatics.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in the work area.
