About The Position

Community Hospital is seeking a full-time Ultrasound Technologist to join their Radiology department. This position involves conducting a variety of ultrasound examinations, interacting with patients, acquiring and analyzing images, collaborating with healthcare professionals, maintaining records, and ensuring equipment is in good working order. The role is based in Grand Junction, CO.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field required.
  • Experience and training in general ultrasound, vascular and OB in the hospital setting preferred
  • ARDMS Registered and/or ARRT Registry in Radiology

Responsibilities

  • Perform sonographic examinations of various parts of the body, including abdomen, pelvis, obstetrics, and vascular systems.
  • Explain procedures to patients, address their concerns, and ensure their comfort during the examination.
  • Use specialized equipment to capture high-quality images, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
  • Assess the images for quality and accuracy, recognizing any abnormalities that may require further investigation.
  • Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and contribute to patient care plans.
  • Maintain detailed patient records, documenting procedures performed, findings, and any relevant patient history.
  • Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained and functions correctly, reporting any issues promptly.
