In addition, the ideal candidate will be responsible for performing Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound exams and related duties. Work is performed in accordance with NOMS policies and procedures/applicable federal and state laws. Effective performance requires independent action under general supervision.

Requirements

  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) Certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Required to maintain CE requirements
  • OB/GYN certification required within 90 days.
  • Graduate of accredited Ultrasound Program.
  • Knowledge of procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of equipment including safety hazards common to equipment.
  • Knowledge of printing exams to CD/film
  • Working knowledge of PACS system and CD burner
  • Knowledge of sending and storing images.
  • Skill in positioning patients properly.
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, Physicians, patients, and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years’ experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complies with HIPAA and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Prepares patients for Ultrasound procedures.
  • Takes Ultrasound images following established guidelines and procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Ensures equipment is in working order.
  • Logs Ultrasound procedures completed.
  • Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Maintains and cleans examination room.
  • Stocks necessary medical and Ultrasound supplies.
  • Processes Ultrasound images to QC station.
  • Prints exams to CD/film when required.
  • Completes necessary worksheet/history forms and sends to Radiologist.
  • Sends images to Radiologist for interpretation and to archival system for storage.
  • Other duties as assigned.
