About The Position

Global Diagnostic Services, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Ultrasound Technologist to operate ultrasound equipment and capture diagnostic images. This role involves preparing patients, reviewing medical history, optimizing imaging parameters, and documenting findings. The technologist will also assist physicians during procedures, maintain equipment, perform clerical tasks, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. The work environment is typically in correctional settings, requiring close collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from a CAAHEP‑accredited sonography program.
  • Clinical rotations providing hands‑on scanning experience.
  • Professional certifications such as RDMS, and BLS.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Ability to optimize imaging parameters and identify normal vs. abnormal findings.
  • Excellent patient communication and care skills.
  • Technical proficiency with ultrasound equipment and computer systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain accurate records.

Nice To Haves

  • Some roles require additional specialty credentials or state licensure.
  • Employers may prefer experience in diagnostic imaging; some positions require several years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic images of organs, tissues, and blood flow.
  • Prepare patients by explaining procedures, applying gel, positioning them properly, and ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Review patient history and tailor scanning protocols to the clinical question.
  • Adjust imaging parameters (depth, gain, frequency, focal zones) to optimize image quality.
  • Obtain and document required measurements (e.g., organ dimensions, fetal biometry).
  • Provide sonogram findings to physicians for diagnostic use.
  • Assist physicians during ultrasound‑guided procedures such as biopsies.
  • Maintain and clean imaging equipment; perform minor troubleshooting.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as scheduling exams and maintaining patient records.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and sterile technique.
