The role of Ultrasound Technologist at the Markham site involves performing a broad scope of diagnostic ultrasound examinations for the Emergency Department, Inpatient, and Outpatient clients, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Current registration in good standing with CMRITO
  • Current registration with Sonography Canada or ARDMS
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for continuous learning and willingness to expand your subspecialty skill-set to meet the service needs of the department
  • Inherent attention to detail and strive for accuracy in data quality when completing clinical documentation and storing images & patient data within the PACS and medical record systems
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgement and efficiency in the face of competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptability to effectively work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver timely, patient-centric care
  • Computer and equipment proficiency, preferably in using Meditech EMR, Canon Aplio-series Ultrasound machines and Change Healthcare-OPTUM PACS
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

Nice To Haves

  • Additional Ultrasound subspecialty certificates (e.g. CRVS, RVT, ARDSM-(BR), (PS), (RMSKS), NT certification)
  • Experience in general ultrasound imaging, gynecologic and obstetrical, small parts, vascular and pediatric imaging

Responsibilities

  • Perform a broad scope of diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety standards
