About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist II performs advanced ultrasound services and diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology. The role produces high-quality images to support healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. The technologist manages complex cases and provides specialized care for patients with unique medical needs, potentially collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on tailored imaging plans and treatment strategies. The position uses advanced imaging techniques and may perform ultrasound-guided procedures.

Requirements

• RVT (ARDMS), RVS (CCI), or VS (ARRT) certification is required within 90 days of hire and must be maintained.
• Additional ARDMS certification in Abdomen, Breast, or OB-GYN is required.
• Graduation from an accredited vascular ultrasound program, or current certification as identified above and graduation within 90 days of hire.
• Current BCLS certificate required upon hire and must be maintained.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex patient cases and provide specialized care for patients with unique medical needs or conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop tailored imaging plans and treatment strategies.
• Operate ultrasound machines to produce real-time images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow, selecting appropriate techniques and settings for the clinical indication or area of interest.
• Use and manipulate a handheld transducer to capture echoes and create images; adjust imaging parameters and obtain multiple views to optimize image quality.
• Interpret ultrasound images in real time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues, identify abnormalities or pathology, and communicate findings to radiologists or referring physicians.
• Use advanced imaging techniques and technologies, including contrast-enhanced ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, injections, thoracentesis, and paracentesis.
