As a Breast Ultrasound Technologist , you will use your technical expertise, critical thinking, and patient care skills to provide high‑quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging. You’ll support daily operations, maintain equipment standards, assist physicians, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited program of ultrasound technology or radiologic technology.
RT(S) - Sonography American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography (ARRT-S).
RT(BS) - Breast Sonography American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Breast Sonography (ARRT-BS).
RT(VS) - Vascular Sonography American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-VS).
RVS - Reg Vascular Specialist Cardiovascular Credentialing International Vascular Sonography.
RDMS - Reg Diag Medical Sonographer American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree Related field.
2 years Experience in diagnostic ultrasound.

Responsibilities

Perform high‑quality diagnostic breast ultrasound exams—including routine, emergent, portable, biopsy, and intraoperative procedures—in accordance with departmental protocols.
Apply strong knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy, pathology, and sonographic imaging techniques.
Acquire, label, and document images accurately; discuss findings with radiologists as needed.
Ensure complete and accurate patient information in all clinical/RIS systems.
Participate in QA activities and report equipment issues promptly.
Support operational flexibility by rotating shifts and taking on‑call assignments (including holidays).
Maintain productivity and meet established accuracy/error standards.
Provide a safe, compassionate, and patient‑centered imaging experience.
Confirm patient identity and review clinical history prior to imaging.
Recognize signs of distress and respond to clinical emergencies appropriately.
Utilize sterile technique where applicable.
Communicate clearly with patients, families, and care teams.
Notify radiologists immediately about urgent or critical exam findings.
Maintain clean, well‑stocked exam rooms and assist in department workflow.
Maintain required licensure and certifications.
Follow institutional, departmental, and regulatory policies.
Participate in mandatory training, drills, and continuing education.
Document procedures, patient concerns, variances, and biopsy paperwork accurately.
Ensure proper coding and data entry for accurate billing.
Contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
Identify workflow and patient‑experience enhancements.
Manage patient flow efficiently through prioritization and critical thinking.
Support downtime procedures and communicate with leadership during outages.
Report equipment malfunctions and assist in troubleshooting.
Serve as a resource for scheduling, throughput, and section efficiency.
Act as lead technologist when needed in the supervisor’s absence.
Support faculty with research-related imaging or tasks.
Participate in special projects and departmental initiatives.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
