About The Position

Centerpoint Health—Winchester is seeking a part-time Ultrasound Technician for its Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic. The technician performs sonographic examinations and procedures requested by referring physicians and provides quality studies for radiologist interpretation to support the diagnosis of patient illness. Exams may include abdominal, obstetric, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and small-parts studies. The role also includes providing age-appropriate care across the lifespan, maintaining supplies and equipment, supporting physicians and staff with scanning guidance, participating in performance improvement and continuing education, and maintaining reliable attendance.

Requirements

• Current associate degree.
• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology.
• Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality ultrasound studies, including abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and small-parts exams, for radiologist interpretation in diagnosing patient illness.
• Perform sonographic examinations and procedures requested by referring physicians.
• Provide age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan.
• Maintain supplies and a clean, orderly work area, and notify the supervisor when items are needed.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity.
• Act as a consultant and educational resource for physicians and staff regarding scan appropriateness and accuracy.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
