About The Position

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technician, PRN to join their OBGYN team. This role is crucial in providing diagnostic ultrasound exams and ensuring patient comfort and safety. The Ultrasound Technician will operate ultrasound equipment, maintain supplies, keep accurate records, and adhere to radiation safety guidelines. Requirements

Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology required.
One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred.
Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification.
BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Receives patients, explains the method of procedure, and makes sure the patient is comfortable.
Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound, and keeps patient flow smooth.
Observes Radiation Safety Guidelines.
