About The Position

Ultrasound Technician performs ultrasound studies in a clinical environment, including abdominal, vaginal, and OBGYN exams. Have clear understanding of image formation and display. Have a clear understanding of fetal growth and development, as well as the basics of pelvic anatomy. Demonstrate skills and ability to locate normal anatomical and fetal abnormalities. Tech will be able to provide correct fetal measurements and history. Tech is responsible for: Scheduling review, appropriately documenting for correct charge entry, and compassionate communication with patients. Exam set-up, physician assistance, patient care, and operation of all department equipment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of formal education and training in Ultrasound Technology program.
  • Must be registered (ARDMS) member or eligible with OB/GYN certifications.
  • Nuchal translucency (NT) and CLEAR certifications required within one year of hire.
  • Must have working knowledge of a wide variety of diagnostic equipment.
  • Those hired after one year of graduation must complete certification within six months.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within first ninety days of employment.
  • Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
  • BLS certification must be secured through the AHA or Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years' experience preferred.
