The Ultrasound Tech II is responsible for serving as a patient advocate, ensuring timely scheduling of inpatients and outpatients, and providing education to patients before, during, and after exams. This role involves maintaining positive relationships with patients, other departments, physicians, and colleagues, and actively participating in improving customer satisfaction. The position also requires accountability for producing quality sonograms, demonstrating appropriate operation of sonography equipment, and ensuring safety in all areas. Accurate data entry into radiology and hospital systems, participation in CQI indicators, and submitting ideas for quality improvement are also key aspects of this role. Additionally, the Ultrasound Tech II is expected to assess their own learning needs, seek appropriate training, set learning goals, and provide education to student radiographers. The role also involves submitting ideas for innovation, participating in hospital-wide initiatives, and implementing Just-Do-It initiatives. Engagement in hospital-wide and departmental activities, attending staff and departmental meetings, and participating in efforts to improve productivity and contain costs are also expected. The position requires ensuring the availability of appropriate supplies and submitting ideas for reducing expenses or generating revenue.
