About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist performs imaging studies and related patient care activities under the direct supervision of the Radiology Operations Manager. The role requires using ultrasound equipment and software, following protocols and procedures, and providing safe and effective patient care.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of a formal ultrasound technology program at an AMA-approved school.
• Successful completion of ARDMS board registry; maintain ARDMS registration.
• At least six months of clinical ultrasound experience.
• Core knowledge of paraprofessional health care and working knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound technology.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Membership in a local and national society is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging studies and related patient care activities.
• Maintain certifications, registrations, and education requirements of the hospital, department, and accrediting body.
• Effectively use ultrasound equipment and software in daily responsibilities.
• Provide safe and effective patient care while performing ultrasound technologist duties.
• Demonstrate knowledge of applicable protocols and procedures.
• Communicate consistently using AIDET with patients, visitors, physicians, peers, managers, volunteers, and internal and external customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
