About The Position

This is a remote position responsible for dispatching Ultrasound Technologists to appropriate geographical locations based on client needs. The role requires knowledge of same-day vs. scheduled services, prioritizing STAT exams, and ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient service. The dispatcher will communicate with clients, assist technologists, and manage scheduling for various types of exams, including fixed physician sites and prison facilities. A thorough understanding of geography, diagnosis codes, Ultrasound study types, Medicare Guidelines, and medical insurance is essential. The role also involves creating work orders, verifying cases, and reporting technical issues.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Same day vs. Scheduled Services.
  • Understanding Clients needs for services and how to create customer satisfaction by providing same day service.
  • A thorough understanding of the assigned dispatch area's geography.
  • Understanding diagnosis codes and Ultrasound study types.
  • Knowledge of medical insurances and where they may/may not be accepted.

  • Ability to communicate directions for nursing staff to prep the patient prior to arrival.
  • Ability to coordinate diagnosis codes and Ultrasound study types to ensure proper technologist dispatch and patient prep.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Guidelines (diagnosis, and scheduling guidelines).

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch Sonographer to the proper geographical where needed.
  • Prioritize STAT Exams as identified by Client and Protocols.
  • Prioritize cases for “STAT”, ASAP and PRIORITY homes.
  • Communicate and report problems to the Supervisor and respective Field Manager.
  • Assist Technologist with a variety of daily needs (directions, case type and client info etc.).
  • When required, will assist the customer service representative with the overflow of client orders.
  • Call facilities to schedule cases for all exams, verifying diagnosis and symptoms and when necessary communicate directions for nursing staff to prep the patient prior to arrival.
  • Understand diagnosis codes and Ultrasound study types; coordinate the two to ensure proper technologist is dispatched and patient prepped if necessary.
  • Learn Medicare Guidelines (diagnosis, and scheduling guidelines).
  • Remain knowledgeable with regards to medical insurances and understand where they may/may not be accepted.
  • Verify cases upon completion by technologist.
  • Technical issues reported by Technologist to be communicated to Supervisor.
  • Schedule Fixed Physician sites and Prison on a weekly basis. Keep contact list up to date with each fixed site.
  • Create work orders based on call or faxed requests.
  • Fax final report to facility at facility request.
