About The Position

Under a site-designated leader and according to established policies and procedures, the Ultrasonographer performs accurate and efficient ultrasound exams using appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The technologist demonstrates good clinical skills and provides the best possible images for interpretation. The role follows Corewell Health’s philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times. This is a casual, part-time position at the Care Center in Canton, with variable shifts and days.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimal experience, as gained at the student level.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire, or American Red Cross BLS certification upon hire.
• One year required for the applicable ARDMS sonography credential: Sonographer (S), excluding cardiac; Breast Sonographer (BS), excluding cardiac, general, and vascular; Abdomen (AB), excluding cardiac and vascular; or Ob/Gyn (OB), excluding cardiac and vascular; alternatively, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), cardiac.
• For the Vascular Department, ARDMS Vascular Technologist (VT) certification is required within one year of hire.

• Use independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative while performing examinations.
• Demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation.
