About The Position

Under the direction of the site designate leader and in accordance with established policies and procedures, this role involves performing accurate and efficient Ultrasound exams. The ultrasonographer will utilize appropriate imaging equipment, applying independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Technologists are expected to demonstrate strong clinical skills and produce the best possible images for interpretation, consistently adhering to Corewell Health's philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimal experience as gained at student level.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association certification upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross certification upon hire.
• Sonographer (S) - ARDMS certification (excluding Cardiac) within 1 year of hire.
• Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS certification (excluding Cardiac, General, Vascular) within 1 year of hire.
• Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS certification (excluding Cardiac, Vascular) within 1 year of hire.
• Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS certification (excluding Cardiac, Vascular) within 1 year of hire.
• Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) - ARDMS certification (Cardiac) within 1 year of hire.
• Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) - Cardiac certification within 1 year of hire.
• Vascular Technologist (VT) - ARDMS certification within 1 year of hire for Vascular Department.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and efficient Ultrasound exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.
• Applies independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
• Demonstrates good clinical skills to provide the best possible images for interpretation.
