About The Position

Performs a variety of technical procedures in operating medical diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures to patients. Monitors and interprets medical diagnostic scans. Performs correlation analysis and clinical history of examinations. Consults with physician regarding patient's history and ultrasound procedures and practices. Reports equipment malfunctions or failures to appropriate personnel. Trains personnel in use of ultrasound equipment. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Allied Health and completion of an approved one-year program in Ultrasound Technology.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications.
  • Must obtain the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Must obtain the Nuchal Translucency Certification within 1 year from hire date.
  • Hiring contingent upon a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Will accept 24 months experience in lieu of the Associate's Degree.
