About The Position

The Ulpanon and Gesher Program Supervisor will manage specific classrooms to ensure Preschool teachers are implementing the OFJCC Leslie Family Preschool vision, guiding principles and SHEVA Early Learning Framework through proper training and assistance with curriculum development. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Master Teacher Permit, Site Supervisor Permit or ability to obtain appropriate permit as required by CA licensing regulations.
  • Minimum five years of preschool teaching experience, including experience in curriculum leadership, mentoring or staff supervision.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Reggio Emilia-inspired education, emergent curriculum, child development and preschool best practices.
  • Fluency in Hebrew (Speaking and Writing) required
  • Cleared Background Check (Fingerprints, Child Abuse Index Check and Medical/TB exam)
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certified
  • Ability and desire to work independently and as a team member with the community and other employees
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010
  • Proven ability to manage a large workload, problem-solve and work under pressure and time constraints
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate information clearly (written and oral)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across the organization

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Hebrew language immersion education strongly preferred.
  • Jewish studies background or demonstrated knowledge of Jewish traditions, values, holidays and Israeli culture, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Transitional Kindergarten standards and kindergarten readiness practices, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate team meetings focused on curriculum planning, documentation processes and problem-solving childcare situations. Ensure meetings are reflective and drive collaboration.
  • Supervise, coach, observe and evaluate teachers through regular classroom observations, ongoing feedback and continuing professional growth trainings that support the teachers. Provide guidance when teachers are managing through challenging educational situations and assist with solutions.
  • Create, design, lead and facilitate workshops and training opportunities that focus on program goals and preschool best practices.
  • Provide classroom coverage when necessary due to staffing and ratio requirements.
