About The Position

The City of San José’s Information Technology Department is hiring a UiPath Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developer, classified as an Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst. The role automates manual, repetitive, and time-consuming processes so staff can focus on higher-value and mission-critical work. The developer partners with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, gather requirements, design solutions, develop automations, and support production deployments. The position designs workflows that process structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using AI models and Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and integrates UiPath with third-party systems and APIs for end-to-end process automation. It also involves developing reusable automation capabilities, applying quality assurance practices, and maintaining and improving solutions after implementation. This is a limit-dated position anticipated to be funded through June 30, 2028, subject to possible extension. The position is currently eligible for a hybrid schedule of 32 hours onsite and 8 hours remote; this arrangement may change. The classification receives approximately 5% ongoing non-pensionable compensation in addition to the starting salary. Salary depends on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
