Philips•Bedford, MA
•$129,000 - $205,000•Onsite

About The Position

Philips is hiring a UI/UX Designer to shape how clinicians see and interact with its intravascular imaging and physiology products. The designer owns visual and interaction design for software used in the cath lab to diagnose and treat vascular disease, from early concepts through commercial release. The work spans Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and Software in a Medical Device (SiMD), including creation and maintenance of an Advanced Imaging design system aligned with Philips’ design language. The designer creates interfaces for cath-lab conditions, where screens must be readable at a distance on boom-mounted monitors and operated tableside in low light and under time pressure. The role produces implementation-ready mockups, interactive prototypes, specifications, and assets; partners with engineers through implementation; translates user needs and clinician feedback into design concepts; and conducts formative usability evaluations. In collaboration with Human Factors and Quality, the designer contributes UI specifications and use-related inputs to the usability engineering file under IEC 62366-1. This is an office-based position in Bedford, Massachusetts, with in-person work at least three days per week; onsite roles require full-time presence at company facilities. The role also involves observing cases in hospital cath labs. The designer works with R&D, Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory, and designers across Philips IGT as part of the first design team embedded directly within the IGTD business. Philips is a health technology company focused on expanding access to quality healthcare. Candidates must reside in or within commuting distance of Bedford, MA, and have US work authorization; visa sponsorship and relocation benefits are not available. The posted base-pay range is $129,000–$205,000, with possible additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission, or long-term incentives. Eligible employees may participate in Philips Total Rewards, including PTO, a 401(k) with up to 7% match, an HSA with company contribution, a stock purchase plan, and education reimbursement.
