UI/UX Designer || Contract || Hybrid- Columbus, OH
About The Position
We are seeking a UI/UX Designer/Programmer for a contract position. This role involves designing intuitive, user-centered interfaces for workflow-heavy applications, focusing on information architecture, Agile development, and design systems. The ideal candidate will have experience designing complex digital products such as SaaS or enterprise solutions and be proficient with design tools like Figma, Axure, or Sketch. Collaboration with developers on HTML/CSS implementation and an understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508) and secure UX practices are essential. The role requires a hybrid work mode, with an expectation to be onsite every third day.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Figma, Axure, Sketch, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with frontend/backend environments for effective collaboration.
- Understanding of WCAG and Section 508 requirements.
- Understanding of secure UX practices and accessibility standards.
- Ability to collaborate with developers on HTML/CSS implementation.
Nice To Haves
- UI/UX certification or degree in HCI, Graphic Design, Interactive Design, Psychology, Computer Science, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Design intuitive, user-centered interfaces for workflow-heavy applications.
- Design intuitive navigation, interfaces, and multi-step workflows.
- Work in Agile environments, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
- Work with component libraries, reusable patterns, and visual standards.
- Design SaaS, enterprise, or complex digital products.
- Collaborate with developers on HTML/CSS implementation.
- Design interfaces aligned with WCAG and Section 508 requirements.
- Apply understanding of secure UX practices and accessibility standards.
