About The Position

The Maryland Department of Labor (MD Labor), Division of Unemployment Insurance is accepting applications for the position of UI Professional III (Trainer). This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies, and the resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year after the closing date. The position is located at 100 S. Charles St. Baltimore, Maryland 21201. The main purpose of this job is to create and provide end-user training to DOL/UI staff on the use of the Beacon System in various areas including Benefits, Tax/Contributions, Appeals, Reemployment, Integrity, Federal Reporting, and other administrative areas.

Requirements

  • Six years of experience in a public/or private agency rendering and/or determining eligibility for a Human Service Program or other programs.
  • OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in a public/or private agency rendering and/or determining eligibility for a Human Service Program or other programs.
  • OR Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • 1 year of public speaking, group presentation skills, and teaching to adults and audiences in a private or corporate setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Google Docs, Drive, Slides, Sheets, etc. (or the Microsoft equivalent)
  • Experience having developed training modules that include online platforms.
  • Experience creating training that is inclusive of disabled audiences.
  • Strong experience in organization and time management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, revise, and provide ongoing training and demonstrations of the Beacon System and other UI systems via virtual, face-to-face, and asynchronous training.
  • Deliver end-user training in Beacon in all areas of Benefits, Tax/Contributions, Appeals, or other administrative areas.
  • Participate in team teaching and training.
  • Provide support to all stakeholders in navigating the system.
  • Assist with other division-specific training as assigned by the UI Training Manager.
