About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking a mid-level Full Stack Developer with an emphasis on front-end development to design, develop, and deploy modern web applications supporting secure AWS environments operating at IL-4/5. The role transforms mission requirements into functional prototypes and production-ready systems for users in regulated DoD environments. The developer supports a large, multidisciplinary test team and a government client across projects and environments, implementing solutions to new and existing problems through software and digital transformation. Work spans the application stack, from database design and backend API development to responsive frontend interfaces, using modern frameworks and tools. The position calls for innovative ideas, scalable architecture, and high-quality code that meets functional and security requirements for cloud-deployed applications. The developer works with React, TypeScript, Vite, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Postgres, Docker, and Docker Compose. The role includes translating requirements into prototypes and production systems, building applications with complex integrations, implementing RESTful APIs, collaborating with DevOps engineers on IL-5 deployments, and integrating AI/ML models and services, including LLM APIs. The developer also contributes to code reviews, technical design discussions, agile development, application security, and vulnerability remediation. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Candidates must complete Booz Allen's required skills assessment and meet its minimum proficiency threshold to continue in the hiring process. The posted annualized compensation range is $86,800 to $198,000. Salary depends on factors including location, education, skills, experience, contract affordability, and organizational requirements. The posting will close within 90 days of its posting date. The hiring process includes identity verification using biometrics and AI; candidates are expected to be on camera during interviews and assessments. Requirements

At least 3 years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications.
At least 3 years of full-stack web application development experience using React and TypeScript or TSX for frontend development.
At least 2 years of experience with Docker and Docker Compose for containerized application development and deployment.
At least 2 years of experience with ORMs, including SQLAlchemy or Django ORM, and relational database design and optimization.
At least 2 years of experience developing backend services with Python frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.
At least 2 years of experience with RESTful API design, implementation, and integration patterns.
Experience with Python testing frameworks, including pytest, and modern package management using UV.
Ability to develop large-scale applications with multiple integrated components.
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree, or at least 5 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.
Complete the required skills assessment and meet the minimum proficiency threshold to continue in the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Design and develop responsive frontend applications using React, TypeScript (TSX), and modern build tools such as Vite.
Build and maintain backend services and APIs using FastAPI.
Architect and implement database schemas, queries, and ORM integrations using SQLAlchemy and Postgres.
Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate multi-service applications with Docker Compose.
Translate stakeholder and technical requirements into working prototypes and iteratively develop them into production systems.
Develop large-scale applications with complex integrations while maintaining code quality and architectural consistency.
Implement RESTful APIs that integrate with external services and data sources.
Collaborate with DevOps engineers to prepare applications for deployment in IL-5 environments.
Integrate AI/ML models and services, including LLM APIs and intelligent features, into web applications.
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code that follows best practices and security guidelines.
Contribute ideas and technical solutions to improve application architecture, user experience, and development workflows.
Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and agile development processes.
Support application security requirements and remediate vulnerabilities identified through security scanning.
