About The Position

This position is responsible for reviewing applications for various public assistance programs and determining the eligibility of applicants and recipients for public assistance programs through interactive interviewing and fact gathering. This involves verifying that application forms are filled out correctly and checking the information for accuracy, which may require follow-ups with applicants. The role communicates effectively with applicants and recipients to address concerns and determine resolutions, advising them on beneficial assistance programs and assisting them in receiving those benefits. Specialists will explain rules and policies to claimants, representatives, employers, doctors, and state and federal agencies, and solicit information to make qualification determinations. Travel may be required for off-site meetings, training, or conferences. The training period will last approximately 7 weeks and is entirely in-person. Resources may transition to FTE after the training period.

Requirements

  • 2+ Years of Customer Service experience
  • Able to work onsite
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • High School Diploma
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills

  • Previous Insurance Adjudicator Experience

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing applications for various public assistance programs.

  • Following up with applicants multiple times as needed.
  • Communicating effectively with applicants and recipients to address customer concerns and determine appropriate resolutions.
  • Advising applicants on potential benefit programs and assisting them in receiving benefits.
  • Explaining rules and policies to claimants, representatives, employers, doctors, state and federal agencies.
  • Soliciting information to make qualification determinations.
  • Traveling to various locations for off-site meetings, training, or conferences.
