UG Service Skilled Laborer B
About The Position
Responsible for assisting a crew with tasks needed to complete underground service installation and repair projects. Work may include hand digging; gathering and assembling materials for tasks at multiple locations; installing or repairing conduits, cables, pedestals, and handholes; and operating digging equipment. This role is not qualified to perform energized work without supervision. Employees must follow safe work practices and may need to attend certification courses if not already certified. The position may involve weekend, evening, and holiday work, as well as long and unpredictable hours and outdoor work in all types of weather.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of underground electric distribution service work experience.
- Familiarity with underground utility construction, including trenching, shoring, pipe laying, and cable pulling.
- Basic math skills.
- Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.
- Valid driver's license in good standing throughout employment.
- Ability to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
- Ability to move freely, including stooping, crawling, and bending at the knees and waist.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
Nice To Haves

- Statewide travel availability or preference.
- Commercial driver's license (CDL).
