About The Position

The Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR) Site Analyst/System Administrator has overall technical responsibility for maintaining the UEWR Prime Mission Equipment (PME) and UEWR Simulator-Tester (UST) systems and associated network equipment. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet the changing needs of contract performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (Masters preferred) and 6 years’ experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a System Administrator using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II requirements (Security+ CE minimum)
  • Local Area Network (LAN) and Cisco switch administration
  • Silicon Graphics (SGI) UV 2000 administration
  • SGI Rackable C2108-RP2 server administration
  • SGI UV System Management Node (SMN) administration
  • SGI Infinite Storage IS5000 RAID administration
  • Protogate Freeway communication servers
  • XLi SAASM Time & Frequency GPS Receivers & IOLan Terminal Servers
  • Network File Server (NFS) architecture and administration
  • LANs, WANs, TCP/IP, SNMP and networking with emphasis on Cisco Catalyst switches
  • Software licensing, C++, software build processes, Perl, Python, or shell scripting
  • Matlab, MATE, Mathematica, Satellite Tool Kit (STK), Missile Conversion Tool (MCT)
  • Phased Array Radar principles
  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
  • US DoD issued interim security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Monitors mission computer systems responds immediately to malfunctions, and keeps users informed of real-time equipment status.
  • Uses diagnostic routines to identify root causes of system malfunctions.
  • Utilizes computer outputs to assess system status and troubleshoot errors.
  • Utilizes maintenance laptop to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Analyzes system data and provides recommendations to resolve assigned computer system degradation and failures.
  • Follows all communications, operational and physical security requirements for the generation, handling, marking, controlling, protecting, and disposition of classified material and information.
  • Maintains records, logs, files, and prepares reports.
  • Controls government assets.
  • Mentor members of the CMOC and operations staff in associated computer technologies.
  • Develop and implement backup strategies and system restoration procedures.
  • Add, remove, and maintain user accounts.
  • Develop and maintain checklists to be used by site computer technicians.
  • Performs mission system software installations and upgrades.
  • Maintain system configuration with respect to UEWR applications: Mission Application Software (MAS), Signal Processing Software (SPS), Receiver-Exciter Software (RES) and Data Reduction.
  • Monitor disk storage capacities and maintain adequate disk storage availability for all users and applications.
  • Implement security procedures and monitor system usage.
  • Assist the site Cyber Security Liaison in reviewing system security information and maintain relevant security accountability logs and records.
  • Acknowledge and resolve problems with RAID file system.
  • Performs other duties as required.
