About The Position

The Division of Undergraduate Education and Student Success (UESS) is committed to ensuring that every undergraduate student at the University of Oregon has the support needed to thrive academically and graduate on time. UESS focuses on student success by providing essential resources and services that promote persistence, enhance academic performance, and guide students along a clear path to timely graduation. Serving the entire undergraduate population, UESS collaborates closely with campus partners to create a supportive and engaging environment that empowers students to reach their full potential. UESS departments and programs include: Exploring Advising , Transfer Advising, PathwayOregon, TRIO Student Support Services, Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence (CMAE), the Accessible Education Center (AEC), Center for Undergraduate Research and Engagement (CURE), Office of Distinguished Scholarships (ODS), McNair Scholars Program, Academic Residential Communities (ARCs), First-Year Interest Groups (FIGs), Student Academy to Inspire Learning (SAIL), Tutoring and Academic Engagement Center (TAEC), and UESS Administration. UESS leads, coordinates, and supports university-wide efforts to enhance pathways to timely graduation. Divisional efforts and initiatives are focused on improving four and six-year graduation, first-year retention, and closing equity gaps in retention and graduation. The UESS Project Manager (UESSPM) provides strategic project management for special projects, programs, and events critical to the UESS mission and supports the strategic implementation of divisional and institution-wide initiatives to improve retention, graduation, and close equity gaps. UESSPM also provides research support, coordinates divisional work groups, task forces, and councils related to student success, and provides communication support to campus partners and stakeholders. The UESSPM manages implementation of new student success related technology, systems, and tools, and convenes and supports groups - including university partners - to build buy-in and adopt the use of new student success related platforms. The UESSPM reports to the Assistant Vice Provost for Strategic Initiatives and Administration and is a vital member of the UESS Administration Team. The UESSPM must exhibit professionalism, collegiality in a team environment, and the ability to create a welcoming and professional atmosphere in the office. This person must be culturally competent, with the ability and commitment to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. This role is designated as fully on-site and does not offer remote or hybrid scheduling options.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of professional experience coordinating or managing projects or initiatives.
  • Skilled in defining project outcomes, designing processes, and facilitating meetings to achieve goals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects within firm deadlines; highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to interpret complex information, make sound decisions, and resolve issues in dynamic environments.
  • Effective in interdisciplinary teams and adept at working with diverse stakeholders across the university.
  • Maintains composure under pressure and handles sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experienced with and ability to quickly learn new technologies or platforms and train others on their use.
  • Culturally competent, with the ability and commitment to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
