About The Position

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a highly skilled Technical Field Representative to serve as the primary technical interface for our advanced Flexrotor UAS platform. In this high-impact, hybrid role, you will split your time between remote technical support and hands-on global field integration—driving customer success, solving complex technical challenges, and directly influencing future aircraft engineering. The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most sophisticated small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It can be used day or night by US and allied forces for a diverse range of intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) on land and at sea.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in aircraft engineering, business administration, or related field and/or equivalent work experience (2 years)
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in Aerospace, UAS, Software or Hardware industry
  • Evaluating and interpreting contracts, data deliverables, and procedures.
  • Working with cross-functional teams and customers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform and present technical and metric oriented data in a clear and concise format.
  • Operational knowledge of aeronautics/aviation industry
  • Project management basics
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanics and electronics
  • Basic knowledge of Information Technology (IT) systems
  • 50% Domestic and International Travel Required
  • Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily.
  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Occasionally.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Daily.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Occasionally.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Daily.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Frequently.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, or technical databases to resolve requests for help with assigned products.
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting, product information, documentation, repair requests, and technical inquiries.
  • Serve as the main contact for hotline support.
  • Provide dedicated support to Flexrotor customers, operators, service centers, and uncrewed aerial system (UAS) operators.
  • Interface with Engineering and other Flexrotor departments regarding product improvements and technical resolution.
  • Work with other Regional Technical Representatives and Flight operations to learn and refine support techniques through advice, shared documentation, mentorship, and collaborative problem-solving on complex technical topics.
  • Analyze technical issues reported by customers and field teams to recommend product modifications, component redesigns, or maintenance procedure updates to Engineering and Quality teams.
  • Collaborate with technical publications teams to create, review, and validate Service Bulletins, technical manuals, and troubleshooting guides based on field findings.
  • Make recommendations for technical changes to improve operations, safety, and operating costs.
  • Provide guidance on scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, component replacement intervals, and service procedure compliance to optimize system reliability and availability.
  • Perform standby duty after hours, on weekends, and during holidays to respond to urgent customer needs.
  • Deploy to customer sites or operational fields as required to assist with system integration, acceptance testing, complex troubleshooting, and initial operational setup.
  • Conduct technical briefings and practical training sessions for customer maintenance personnel and UAS operators on proper system handling, maintenance procedures, and safety practices.
  • Gather operational data, environmental impact notes, and field usage metrics to support ongoing reliability engineering and continuous product improvement.
