The UAS Flight Operations Specialist will assist with aircraft builds, subsystem integration, payload installation, maintenance activities, and flight operations support in fast-paced prototype and production environments. This position requires strong hands-on technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to support multiple operational and flight test activities simultaneously.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or military aviation/UAS experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting UAS, aviation, aerospace, defense, or related technical operations environments.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, electrical integration, maintenance, or technical troubleshooting preferred.
  • Familiarity with unmanned aircraft systems and flight operations preferred.
  • Group 2 / Group 3 fixed-wing operations experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across engineering, production, and operations teams.
  • Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) and obtain a passport.
  • Due to federal contract requirements applicable to this position, candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Support aircraft integration activities across mechanical, electrical, avionics, payload, and flight systems for UAS platforms.
  • Assist with prototype integration, aircraft assembly, troubleshooting, configuration changes, and flight test preparation activities.
  • Support developmental flight testing, operational demonstrations, and field operations as directed.
  • Perform aircraft inspections, maintenance, servicing, and pre-flight/post-flight activities.
  • Assist with payload integration, wiring, component installation, and aircraft configuration tasks.
  • Support aircraft functionality verification and readiness for testing and operational events.
  • Document discrepancies, maintenance actions, configuration changes, and operational activities.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and corrective actions for aircraft and subsystem integration issues.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, and flight operations personnel to support program objectives.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, workspaces, and operational areas in accordance with company standards and safety requirements.
  • Support shipping, handling, transport, and field deployment of aircraft systems and support equipment as required.
  • Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines during all operational activities.
