About The Position

Percepto is seeking a UAS Field Service Technician, a hybrid Electro-Mechanical Tech, to join their growing team. This role involves working independently with customers in the field, primarily in Texas and across the U.S., to deploy, install, maintain, and troubleshoot Percepto's autonomous inspection and monitoring systems, including their industrial drone-in-a-box solution. The technician will play a crucial role in helping customers revolutionize infrastructure inspection and monitoring. The position requires collaboration with operations, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure product adaptation and customer satisfaction. The role is based out of the Operations Hub in Midland, TX when not at customer sites.

Requirements

  • FAA Part 107 preferred, or the ability to pass the exam within the first 30 days of employment (paid for by the company).
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and clean driving record (MVR) to operate company-provided field vehicle.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the Midland, TX operations hub.
  • PEC/SafeLand SAFESTART certification, H2S Clear.
  • At least 1-2 years of proven technical record operating drones, or 2+ years of industrial technician experience (E&I, wind/solar, aviation mechanics, or diesel/heavy equipment).
  • At least 2 years of proven technician work experience (electrician, mechanic, assembly, repair).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
  • Ability to work on some non-routine hours, and willingness to work overtime.
  • Ability to self-learn in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Successfully work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Great customer-facing skills.
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Willingness to work out in the field.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, energetic, assertive.

Nice To Haves

  • Thermographer certification is a plus.
  • Spanish speaker - an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment, installation, and ongoing maintenance of Percepto's systems at client sites.
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain aerial and ground systems.
  • Independently plan and execute assigned activities, collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure successful completion.
  • Follow company procedures and protocols and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure readiness and proper maintenance of all flight and testing equipment and tools.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with schedules and client expectations.
  • Safely conduct operations, adhering to FAA, other local aviation regulations, OSHA regulations, and customer-specific safety protocols.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all work performed and timely provide status updates as required.
  • Participate in in-field testing of Percepto’s next-era autonomous robotic systems.
  • Test product capabilities and identify areas for improvement.
