About The Position

DLA Piper's Litigation group is seeking exceptional law students to join the summer program in various offices across the U.S. The program is designed for students who are motivated to build their legal skills, gain insight into client needs, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset. The firm values innovators and creative thinkers who thrive on challenge and value teamwork. Summer associates will receive a tailored experience working on trials, appeals, and related counseling, along with pro bono opportunities. The program includes in-depth training focused on development, a support team for feedback, and networking opportunities through social events. The 10-week program offers insight into the life of an associate at DLA Piper.

Requirements

  • Class of 2029 law students.
  • Demonstrated interest in litigation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Law Review or Moot Court preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work on trials, appeals, and related counseling.
  • Participate in pro bono opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
  • Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; participating in digital/virtual conference calls; participating in meetings as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned.

Benefits
