About The Position

The TWIC Escort Jax Port is responsible for maintaining visual surveillance of all persons and vehicles within the staging area and terminal footprint. This role involves directing and monitoring vehicle movement, ensuring drivers adhere to designated routes, and escorting drivers to the main gate upon departure. The escort also performs trailer inspections to ensure the safety and integrity of cargo by checking for debris, oil, foreign objects, and potential water damage. This position requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including the prohibition of cellular phone use while on duty and the mandatory wearing of safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

Possess a valid TWIC.
Safety-toed boots/shoes.
Do not use cellular phones while on duty.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

Maintain visuals on all persons/vehicles within the staging area and terminal footprint.
Never leave the duty assignment unless relieved by another qualified flagger or supervisor.
Maintain visuals on all inbound vehicles to the staging area.
Direct and monitor all vehicles entering and leaving the staging area.
Ensure drivers maintain the correct direction and are traveling from one flagger to the next.
Upon travel departure, ensure drivers leave the Seaonus property and are escorted to the main gate.
Ensure no driver or occupant leaves their truck for any reason other than an emergency or to utilize the port-o-let within the staging area (ensure they return to their trucks when finished).
Challenge any pedestrian seen within or along the perimeter of the staging area.
Report any person seen outside of their truck (unless they are directly at their truck conducting related business or under the direction of a Seaonus employee).
Report any Seaonus flagger not maintaining their job duties properly.
Enter trailers and perform visual checks to ensure the floors are free from debris, oil, and/or any foreign objects or materials that could potentially damage cargo.
Conduct a visual inspection of the trailer’s sidewalls, front wall, and doors to ensure there are no holes present that could potentially allow water or moisture to enter and damage the cargo.
Other duties as assigned.
