Tutor for High School Government Course- Special Needs Experience - $50/hr
About The Position
Tutor Doctor is seeking an experienced and professional tutor for a one-on-one engagement with a high school senior in South San Francisco. The student requires assistance with a mandatory government class. She is visually impaired and proficient with assistive technologies such as her iPhone and Meta smart glasses for accessing materials. While independent with her tools, she requires a patient tutor who can help her maintain pace, clarify content, and manage her coursework and deadlines effectively. Sessions are conducted in person in South San Francisco, once a week, immediately after school with a short break. Available time slots are Monday or Wednesday at 2:30/3:00 PM, or Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday at 3:30 PM. Applicants must be able to commit reliably to one of these specific time slots.
Requirements
- Professional teaching or tutoring experience (not peer or volunteer tutoring).
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Experience teaching U.S. Government or Civics at the high school level.
- Comfort working alongside assistive technology.
- Reliable availability for one of the specified time slots (Monday or Wednesday at 2:30/3:00 PM, or Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday at 3:30 PM).
- Ability to travel to South San Francisco for in-person sessions.
- Willingness to complete a background check.
